On the application of numerical ship icing models in ship design / W. Paul Zakrzewski, Edward P. Lozowski.
Title: | On the application of numerical ship icing models in ship design / W. Paul Zakrzewski, Edward P. Lozowski. |
Author(s): | Zakrzewski, W. Paul. Lozowski, Edward P. |
Date: | 1991. |
Publisher: | St. John's, Newfoundland: Memorial University of Newfoundland, Ocean Engineering Research Centre |
In: | POAC'91 : the 11th International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions, September 24-28, 1991, St. John's, Canada. (1991.), Vol.2. |
Abstract: | Presents results of numerical simulations of rates of ice growth and ice loads on bulkhead of medium-sized fishing trawler. Performed for various locations of bulkhead and for several combinations of ship speed, weather, and sea parameters. Aims to demonstrate usefulness of numerical ship icing model in calculating ice loads and to show that effect of ice loads on ship's stability should be studied for entire ship rather than single component. |
