Record #112734:

Reduction of ice thickness in northern water reservoirs / S.J. Stanley, Daniel W. Smith.

Title: Reduction of ice thickness in northern water reservoirs / S.J. Stanley, Daniel W. Smith.
Author(s): Stanley, S. J.
Smith, Daniel W.
Date: 1991.
In: Journal of Cold Regions Engineering. (1991.), Vol. 5(3) (1991)
Abstract: Evaluates available methods for effectiveness in reducing ice, with consideration given to economic efficiency and general acceptability for use with potable water source. Methods considered include geometrical optimization of design of reservoir, reducing ice thickness and shortening period that storage is required. Conditions in Northwest Territories, Canada, considered.
