Record #112674:

Recharge of Mackenzie Delta lakes during winter / C.R. Burn.

Title: Recharge of Mackenzie Delta lakes during winter / C.R. Burn.
Author(s): Burn, C. R.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Saskatoon: National Hydrology Research Institute
In: Mackenzie Delta : environmental interactions and implications of development. (1991.),
Abstract: Presents evidence for winter recharge at two sites near Inuvik, NWT. Lakes are connected to distributary channels throughout summer but drain during autumn as Mackenzie stage falls. Winter recharge indicated by raising of ice surface due probably to backing up of East Channel as delta outlets freeze and channels become constricted by ice.
