Record #112573:
Snowpack studies using a high-resolution FM-CW radar / G. Koh.
Title: | Snowpack studies using a high-resolution FM-CW radar / G. Koh. |
Author(s): | Koh, G. |
Date: | 1991. |
In: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1991.), Vol. 72(44, supplement) (1991) |
Abstract: | AGU Fall Meeting Program and Abstracts, December 9-13, 1991. Frequency range 26.5 to 40 GHz. Presents time-series measurements of radar backscatter from snowpack made under changing environmental conditions. Due to large difference in complex dielectric constants of ice and water at microwave frequencies, backscatter returns from snow cover are shown to be particularly sensitive to melting and freezing processes. Diurnal variations are often observed. Other results discussed. |
Notes: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 72(44, supplement) :191 (1991). |
