Abstract: AGU Fall Meeting Program and Abstracts, December 9-13, 1991. Satellite-borne passive microwave system offers promising method to monitor temporal and spatial variations in snow-cover parameters. In contrast to remote sensing using visible wavelengths, surface data can be obtained in presence of cloud cover and in darkness. Discusses algorithms tested and possible causes of error.
