Changes in Arctic Ocean surface water properties and ice covers in response to global climate change during the last 20,000 years / R.F. Spielhagen, S. Köhler, U. Pagels, Jörn Thiede.
Title: | Changes in Arctic Ocean surface water properties and ice covers in response to global climate change during the last 20,000 years / R.F. Spielhagen, S. Köhler, U. Pagels, Jörn Thiede. |
Author(s): | Spielhagen, R. F. Köhler, S. Pagels, U. Thiede, Jörn. |
Date: | 1991. |
In: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1991.), Vol. 72(44, supplement) (1991) |
Abstract: | AGU Fall Meeting Program and Abstracts, December 9-13, 1991. Results indicate that surface drift regime in eastern Arctic Ocean and western Fram Strait did not change significantly during last glacial--interglacial transition, whereas in eastern Fram Strait conversion of surface drift occurred. Sedimentation rates were very low during last glacial and increased afterwards. AMS datings indicate postglacial time lag of 2 to 3 ka for establishment of present-day ¹⁸O composition of uppermost water column. |
Notes: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 72(44, supplement) :238 (1991). |
