Abstract: Deals with instability of floating ice sheet, leading to buckling. Ice sheet is modelled as thin plate on elastic foundation. Method makes it possible to reduce biharmonical problem to system of two Poisson's equations. Numerical solution is based on iteration. Rayleigh's formula used to determine critical force parameter for floating plate.
