| Abstract: | Describes system whereby icebergs may be detected at ranges over 280 km, by means of shore-based ground wave radar. Tested in spring 1990, off coast of Newfoundland. Data were collected for total of four weeks over three-month period; example is detection and tracking of medium-sized iceberg at range of 280 km over 8-h period. |
