Record #112454:

The Finnish Arctic offshore research programme / Ernst Enkvist, Esa Eranti.

Title: The Finnish Arctic offshore research programme / Ernst Enkvist, Esa Eranti.
Author(s): Enkvist, Ernst.
Eranti, Esa.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Golden, CO: International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE)
In: Proceedings of the First (1991) International Offshore and Polar Engineering Conference. Vol. 2. Computer technology, ROV and control, risers, mooring and cables, pipelines, international polar research, ice, structures and scour ... held at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, The United Kingdom, 11-16 August 1991. (1991.),
Abstract: Describes five-year (beginning 1985) programme coordinated by Finnish government's Technology Development Centre. Comprised 18 research projects divided into three groups: interaction between ice and structures (ship or fixed), construction materials technology, and support functions for Arctic development. Results of some of these projects are outlined: in particular, mechanical resistance to ship movement in level ice, ice load on screw propellers, physics of contact between ice and structure, Kemi I (lighthouse) test project, dynamic ice/structure interaction, concrete durability in offshore structures.
