Abstract: | Describes these large boulders, characterized by pressure mound ahead and elongate depression behind. Seasonal freezing leads to high ice content and ground moisture beneath boulder, and this causes gliding downslope. Movement is not regular and reaches maximum in late spring. Can be as high as 7 to 10 cm a⁻¹. |
