Chemical processes in snow - where should we go? / Jeff Dozier, Yngvar T. Gjessing, Arland J. Johannes, Elizabeth M. Morris.

Title: Chemical processes in snow - where should we go? / Jeff Dozier, Yngvar T. Gjessing, Arland J. Johannes, Elizabeth M. Morris.
Author(s): Dozier, Jeff.
Gjessing, Yngvar T.
Johannes, Arland J.
Morris, Elizabeth M.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Berlin: Springer
In: Seasonal snowpacks; processes of compositional change. (1991.),
Abstract: During NATO Advanced Research Workshop on Processes of Chemical Change in Snowpacks, held in Maratea, Italy, 23-27 July 1990, much was learned about incorporation of chemicals into snowfall or snowpacks (but wet deposition is better understood than dry), and about link between snow metamorphism and fractionation of elutants (but effects and importance of solid particles are not well studied, and meltwater movement and fractionation are not so well linked). Based on papers presented during workshop, problems of snow chemistry are reviewed; in these, conceptual and quantitative models of process fall short and require further investigation.
