Climatic change and seasonal snowcovers: a review of the factors regulating the chemical evolution of snowcover and a predictive case study for north-eastern North America / Trevor D. Davies, Stephen J. Vavrus.
Title: | Climatic change and seasonal snowcovers: a review of the factors regulating the chemical evolution of snowcover and a predictive case study for north-eastern North America / Trevor D. Davies, Stephen J. Vavrus. |
Author(s): | Davies, Trevor D. Vavrus, Stephen J. |
Date: | 1991. |
Publisher: | Berlin: Springer |
In: | Seasonal snowpacks; processes of compositional change. (1991.), |
Abstract: | After brief discussion of physical links between snow cover and atmosphere, some relationships between transport and deposition processes and snowpack chemistry are examined. Reviews factors influencing chemical evolution of existing snow cover, and reviews climate variability and climate predictions/projections. Attempts to assess response of composition of seasonal snow cover to climate projections. Since methodology concerns acid content of meltwater leaving snow cover, incidental information on future potential impact on aquatic biota is derived. |
