Record #112437:
Organic micropollutants in seasonal snowcover and firn / D.J. Gregor.
Title: | Organic micropollutants in seasonal snowcover and firn / D.J. Gregor. |
Author(s): | Gregor, D. J. |
Date: | 1991. |
Publisher: | Berlin: Springer |
In: | Seasonal snowpacks; processes of compositional change. (1991.), |
Abstract: | Reviews existing information on role of snow in scavenging organic contaminants from atmosphere, in storing them in snow, and in releasing them, through snowmelt, to aquatic environment. Considers only organochlorine pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Information regarding temporal trends of levels of these compounds, revealed from glacial studies, and problems in using data is discussed. Extensive reference list. |
Notes: | In: Seasonal snowpacks; processes of compositional change / Trevor D. Davies, Martyn Tranter, H. Gerald Jones, eds. |
