Record #112102:

Fracture and flow of polycrystalline ice / M.A. Rist, S.A.F. Murrell.

Title: Fracture and flow of polycrystalline ice / M.A. Rist, S.A.F. Murrell.
Author(s): Rist, M. A.
Murrell, S. A. F.
Date: 1991.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1991.), Vol. 72(44, supplement) (1991)
Abstract: AGU Fall Meeting Program and Abstracts, December 9-13, 1991. Results from uni-and triaxial compression tests, and from uniaxial tesion tests, are presented that permit mapping of range of various mechanisms of ice deformation. In particular, influence of microcracking on flow behaviour, transition from flow to fracture, and nature of uni- and triaxial brittle failure are examined.
Notes:

Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 72(44, supplement) :164 (1991).

Keywords: 551.322 -- Ice and snow.
539.42 -- Ice, tensile strength.
E4 -- Glaciology: physics and chemistry of ice.
