Modeling of snow melting and water infiltration in layered subfreezing snowpacks / Peng-H. Tseng, T.H. Illangasekare, Mark F. Meier, W.T. Pfeffer.
Title: | Modeling of snow melting and water infiltration in layered subfreezing snowpacks / Peng-H. Tseng, T.H. Illangasekare, Mark F. Meier, W.T. Pfeffer. |
Author(s): | Tseng, Peng-H. Illangasekare, T. H. Meier, Mark F. Pfeffer, W. T. |
Date: | 1991. |
In: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1991.), Vol. 72(44, supplement) (1991) |
Abstract: | AGU Fall Meeting Program and Abstracts, December 9-13, 1991. Presents two-dimensional Galerkin finite element model for simulation of snow melt and water infiltration to describe behaviour of naturally deposited snow pack during freeze-thaw cycle. Model was developed specifically to assess global sea level change due to ice wastage by greenhouse effect. Can also be incorporated into any exsting water shed models to estimate snowmelt water production. |
