Abstract: AGU Fall Meeting Program and Abstracts, December 9-13, 1991. Describes newly developed method, involving use of electromagnetic "clasts", which are lowered into bore hole and hammered into subglacial till. Because of axial symmetry of dipole magnetic field, three orthogonally oriented electromagnets were used in each "clast". Instrumentation was deployed for six days in 90 m bore hole. Results are discussed.
