| Abstract: | AGU Fall Meeting Program and Abstracts, December 9-13, 1991. New method developed for obtaining "high" resolution images of normalized radar backscatter coefficient (5 to 10 km or better) from SASS data. Method uses measurement cell overlap from multiple spacecraft passes and signal processing techniques. Time-series sequence for July to September over Greenland presented in which time and spatial extent of summer melt are evident. Images show use of medium-scale resolution radar measurements of ice sheet and suggest new applications of SASS data for studying polar ice. |
