| Abstract: | AGU Fall Meeting Program and Abstracts, December 9-13, 1991. During August-September 1991, aircraft equipped with laser and radar altimeters overflew transects of Greenland ice sheet, including two orbit tracks of ERS-1 (carries satellite radar altimeter) and EGIG levelling traverse. Objectives were to assess airborne laser altimetry as tool for measuring thickening/thinning rates of ice sheet, and to validate ERS-1 altimetry data over ice sheets. |
