Sea-level change in Vestfirdhir, north west Iceland / James D. Hansom, David J. Briggs.
Title: | Sea-level change in Vestfirdhir, north west Iceland / James D. Hansom, David J. Briggs. |
Author(s): | Hansom, James D. Briggs, David J. |
Date: | 1991. |
Publisher: | Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic |
In: | Environmental change in Iceland : past and present. (1991.), |
Abstract: | Describes results of field observations of raised marine features, which suggest that this area has different isostatic uplift pattern from rest of Iceland, probably because of different history of deglaciation. Separation from mainland ice mass was probably effected early in deglaciation sequence and thus created conditions conducive to independent history of isostatic recovery. |
