Record #112051:

A review of the Late Weichselian and Early Holocene glacial and environmental history of Iceland / Ólafur Ingólfsson.

Title: A review of the Late Weichselian and Early Holocene glacial and environmental history of Iceland / Ólafur Ingólfsson.
Author(s): Ingólfsson, Ólafur.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic
In: Environmental change in Iceland : past and present. (1991.),
Abstract: Pattern and timing of last deglaciation is critically reviewed and discussed. New data suggest relatively late deglaciation, with larger glaciers during Younger Dryas and Preboreal periods than assumed previously. Icelandic evidence is examined in light of data from adjacent North Atlantic areas, and it is concluded that contribution of Icelandic data to discussion of climatic changes in North Atlantic has been limited due to scarcity of data and poor stratigraphical control of available evidence.
