Abstract: | Seven samples from four cores were subjected to analysis. Consistent dates were obtained for cores from deeper part of Scoresby Sund and Hall Bredning, where average sedimentation rates of 20 to 30 cm ka⁻¹ have been calculated for last 10 ka. Distinct change of sediment fabric and composition is dated to 10 ka BP and represents end of Younger Dryas. Seismic echo soundings showed that glaciomarine sediments are 5 to 10 m thick. Sedimentation rates indicate that all sediments in fjord were deposited after Late Weichselian fjord glaciation. |
