| Abstract: | Based on stratigraphy and datings, 6.3 m sediment core from lake was interpreted in two ways: (1) pre-Holocene sequence was deposited between 10 and 20 ka BP as glaciolacustrine/glaciomarine sediments followed by very slow or discontinuous sedimentation of lake sediments in extreme Arctic environment, or (2) sediments were formed between 10 and 13 ka BP and organic matter in uppermost metre of pre-Holocene sequence is dominated by glacially re-deposited pre-Late Weichselian fjord sediments brought into lake basin through suspension. First interpretation is regarded as most likely. |
