Record #111893:

Full-scale field studies of the dynamic response of piles embedded in partially frozen soils / Hans Vaziri, Yingcai Han.

Title: Full-scale field studies of the dynamic response of piles embedded in partially frozen soils / Hans Vaziri, Yingcai Han.
Author(s): Vaziri, Hans.
Han, Yingcai.
Date: 1991.
In: Canadian Geotechnical Journal. (1991.), Vol. 28(5) (1991)
Abstract: Compares theory with observations. Influence of thin, near-surface, frozen soil layer on response of pile was also investigated. Field test involved cast-in-place concrete pile embedded in relatively homogeneous silty clay formation. Several tests at various excitation intensities were carried out in winter, and then in summer, to assess influence of frozen soil layer and nonlinearity induced by soil yielding or pile separation on pile response.
