Translated title: | Settling and consolidation of the frozen clayey silt at Kangiqsualujjuaq. |
Author(s): | Leroueil, Serge. Dionne, Guy. Allard, Michel. |
Date: | 1991. |
Language: | French. |
In: | Canadian Geotechnical Journal. (1991.), Vol. 28(5) (1991) |
Abstract: | Studied in laboratory and field by melting permafrost in foundation of excavation at site in Quebec near Ungava Bay. Values of thawing settlement parameter agree with one another and with published results for same type of soil. Also observed on this site that thawing of permafrost, even though ice-rich, does not generate excess pore pressures. |
Notes: | Canadian Geotechnical Journal. Vol. 28(5) :678-689 (1991). English abstract, p. 678. |
