Record #111890:

The Ice Brook Formation and post-Rapitan, Late Proterozoic glaciation, Mackenzie Mountains, Northwest Territories / J.D. Aitken.

Title: The Ice Brook Formation and post-Rapitan, Late Proterozoic glaciation, Mackenzie Mountains, Northwest Territories / J.D. Aitken.
Author(s): Aitken, J. D.
Date: 1991.
In: Geological Survey of Canada. Bulletin. (1991.), Vol. 404 (1991)
Abstract: Concentrates on stratigraphy and sedimentology of interval comprising Twitya, Keele, and Sheepbed formations, especially relations at basinward margin of carbonate platform on which Keele Formation was deposited. Ice Brook Formation and its Durkan, Delthore and Stelfox members are erected to facilitate description and mapping of these deposits. "Tepee dolostone", which is thin unit of laminated dolomite resting unconformably on glaciomarine diamictites, is similar to "cap dolomite" that rests on Upper Proterozoic glacial deposits elsewhere. Establishment of second, post-Rapitan, Late Proterozoic glaciation is particularly significant.
