Abstract: Discusses collisions between ice islands (tabular Arctic icebergs) and offshore structures. To assess risks, Monte Carlo computer simulation program was developed to simulate ice-shelf calving and movements of icebergs. Used to estimate contact probability of ice islands with structure, e.g. idealized 45° cone with waterline diameter of 30 m deployed at five selected locations in Beaufort Sea in 65 m of water. For this case, contact probability of iceberg with structure is <0.01 a⁻¹.
