Record #111836:

Spatial and temporal distribution of Laurentide and Fennoscandian meltwater during the last deglaciation / Glenn A. Jones.

Title: Spatial and temporal distribution of Laurentide and Fennoscandian meltwater during the last deglaciation / Glenn A. Jones.
Author(s): Jones, Glenn A.
Date: 1991.
In: Norsk Geologisk Tidsskrift. (1991.), Vol. 71(3) (1991)
Abstract: δ¹⁸O composition of planktonic foraminifera in 11 AMS (accelerator mass spectrometry) ¹⁴C-dated cores from Atlantic Ocean and Norwegian/Greenland seas were used to examine temporal and geographic distribution of salinity anomalies in these ocean basins during last deglaciation. Four regional patterns emerged, with earliest anomaly found throughout Norwegian-Greenland sea at 15 ka BP and three others at approximately 2000-year periodicities.First exhibits earliest evidence of decay of northern hemisphere ice sheets.
