Title: The USACRREL underwater frazil ice detector / Steven F. Daly, John H. Rand.
Author(s): Daly, Steven F.
Rand, John H.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Civil Engineers
In: Cold Regions Engineering. Proceedings of the Sixth International Specialty Conference ... the Sheraton North Country Inn, West Lebanon, NH, February 26-28, 1991. (1991.),
Abstract: Device operates remotely, and can start deicing procedures automatically. Detector monitors flow rate through small intake screen which acts as miniature trash rack that will allow frazil ice to accumulate much quicker than actual trash racks. Tested in field and laboratory and is cost-effective solution to early detection of frazil.
