Record #111398:

Modelling of the snow-water equivalent in the mountain environment / L.N. Braun.

Title: Modelling of the snow-water equivalent in the mountain environment / L.N. Braun.
Author(s): Braun, L. N.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: Wallingford, Oxfordshire: IAHS Press
In: Snow, hydrology and forests in high alpine areas. Proceedings of an international symposium held during the 20th General Assembly of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics at Vienna, 11-24 August 1991. (1991.),
Abstract: Reviews recent developments in assessment of spatial and temporal variations of snow cover in alpine regions. Attempts to show how measured values such as snow water equivalent (point and areal values) or snow-covered area can be used as verification criteria to calibrate and validate models of snow accumulation and ablation. Choice of appropriate model to be used will depend on purpose of simulation and availablity of data.
