Record #111229:

Differential frost heave, load casting and convection: converging mechanisms; a discussion of the origin of cryoturbations / Brigitte Van Vliet-Lanoë.

Title: Differential frost heave, load casting and convection: converging mechanisms; a discussion of the origin of cryoturbations / Brigitte Van Vliet-Lanoë.
Author(s): Vliet-Lanoë, Brigitte Van.
Date: 1991.
In: Permafrost and Periglacial Processes. (1991.), Vol. 2(2) (1991)
Abstract: Reviews and discusses main mechanisms involved in cryoturbation processes and patterned ground, based on results of detailed field surveys in Svalbard, Finnish Lappland, and Alps, and from laboratory experiments. Validity of different theories is discussed. Aim of paper is to determine effectiveness of each proposed process in formation of involutions and patterned ground of periglacial origin.
