Automated measurements of crystal dimensions and concentration of inclusions in ice cores: methods and first results / V.S. Zagorodnov, J. Heintzenberg, O. Watanabe, Y. Fujii.
Title: | Automated measurements of crystal dimensions and concentration of inclusions in ice cores: methods and first results / V.S. Zagorodnov, J. Heintzenberg, O. Watanabe, Y. Fujii. |
Author(s): | Zagorodnov, V. S. Heintzenberg, J. Watanabe, O. Fujii, Y. |
Date: | 1991. |
In: | Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1991.), Vol. 19(3) (1991) |
Abstract: | Describes experimental technique, for artificial and natural ice. Theoretical rate of measurements can reach 1000 per second, corresponding to travel speed of 1 m s⁻¹ when moving sensors along ice core. Narrow beam laser optics allow detection of ice inclusions as small as 1 μm in diameter. |
Notes: | Cold Regions Science and Technology. Vol. 19(3) :327-333 (1991). |
