Record #111146:

A comparison between active and passive microwave measurements of the Antarctic ice sheet and their association with the surface katabatic winds / F. Rémy, J.F. Minster.

Title: A comparison between active and passive microwave measurements of the Antarctic ice sheet and their association with the surface katabatic winds / F. Rémy, J.F. Minster.
Author(s): Rémy, F.
Minster, J. F.
Date: 1991.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1991.), Vol. 37(125) (1991)
Abstract: Intensity of Seasat altimeter return power over Antarctica varies in strong correlation with intensity of model katabatic winds. Also strongly correlated with polarization of passive microwave signal at 37 GHz of Nimbus-7 SMMR data. Shows that this is probably result of wind-induced micro-roughness of surface.
