| Abstract: | Describes lithology and palaeontology of Pliocene deposits with aim of providing palaeoceanographic reconstruction of region. Identifies three stratigraphic suites corresponding to three standard Pacific diatom zones. This sequence is further divided into members and beds on basis of molluscan assemblages and benthic foraminiferal assemblages. Presents conclusions on ocean water temperatures, geographical distribution of certain species of molluscs. |
