Record #110954:

Using climate and vegetation studies in southern Greenland to estimate the natural resources during the Norse period / Birger Ulf Hansen.

Title: Using climate and vegetation studies in southern Greenland to estimate the natural resources during the Norse period / Birger Ulf Hansen.
Author(s): Hansen, Birger Ulf.
Date: 1991.
In: Acta Borealia. (1991.), Vol. 8(1) (1991)
Abstract: Recent climatic studies and satellite-based monitoring have shown great variation in biomass production from year to year due to minor climate fluctuations. In areas populated to capacity with farms it can result in over-grazing and soil erosion. Results have implications for future agricultural management and indicate some of problems faced by Norse.
