Abstract: Over-production has been problem since 1960s. Covers regional changes in Finnish farming, and effects of agricultural policy aimed at restricting over-production and to reducing regional differences in agricultural income of farms; includes discussion of role of farm forests. Practising of agriculture is in danger, especially in northern Finland. Recommends development of agriculture and rural industries in order to improve living conditions and keep countryside populated.
