Title: | Sedimentology and genesis of slope deposits at Sonskyn, eastern Cape Drakensberg, South Africa / Patricia M. Hanvey, Colin A. Lewis. |
Author(s): | Hanvey, Patricia M. Lewis, Colin A. |
Date: | 1991. |
In: | Permafrost and Periglacial Processes. (1991.), Vol. 2(1) (1991) |
Abstract: | Exposure thought to indicate progressive accretion through contined cryogenic processes, which are inferred to be freeze-thaw, sheet wash, and solifluction associated with existence of snow patch in vicinity. Palaeolithic artefacts suggest accretion occurred within last 140 ka BP. |
Notes: | Permafrost and Periglacial Processes. Vol. 2(1) :31-38 (1991). |
Keywords: | 551.34 -- Geocryology. Frozen ground. 551.343 -- Periglacial processes. Thermokarst. E8 -- Glaciology: frost action and permafrost. (680) -- South Africa. |
