Record #110903:

Sedimentology and genesis of slope deposits at Sonskyn, eastern Cape Drakensberg, South Africa / Patricia M. Hanvey, Colin A. Lewis.

Title: Sedimentology and genesis of slope deposits at Sonskyn, eastern Cape Drakensberg, South Africa / Patricia M. Hanvey, Colin A. Lewis.
Author(s): Hanvey, Patricia M.
Lewis, Colin A.
Date: 1991.
In: Permafrost and Periglacial Processes. (1991.), Vol. 2(1) (1991)
Abstract: Exposure thought to indicate progressive accretion through contined cryogenic processes, which are inferred to be freeze-thaw, sheet wash, and solifluction associated with existence of snow patch in vicinity. Palaeolithic artefacts suggest accretion occurred within last 140 ka BP.
Notes:

Keywords: 551.34 -- Geocryology. Frozen ground.
551.343 -- Periglacial processes. Thermokarst.
E8 -- Glaciology: frost action and permafrost.
