Abstract: If observed thinning of ice sheet is assumed to be transitional process in which ice sheet is adjusting to present climate, equilibrium ice-sheet profile which adjusts to parameters of present climate would provide some understanding of this behaviour. This was achieved using three-dimensional, non-steady state, ice-sheet model. Results show that almost stationary state was reached after 10⁴ model years from present profile of ice sheet. Profile depended on bedrock topography and tested parameters sensitively. Calculations indicated that thickness tended to decrease in middle-stream region.
