Structural development of the Lapland greenstone belt and its influence upon epigenetic gold mineralization / Peter Ward.
Title: | Structural development of the Lapland greenstone belt and its influence upon epigenetic gold mineralization / Peter Ward. |
Author(s): | Ward, Peter. |
Date: | 1991. |
In: | Geologiska Föreningens i Stockholm Förhandlingar. (1991.), Vol. 113(1) (1991) |
Abstract: | Examination of tectonic development of Lapland greenstone belt, which contrasts with typical Late Archaean terrains in several respects. Deformation of at least upper crust in Finnish Lapland was response to regionally imposed clockwise torque. These structures also appear to have controlled emplacement of granitoids, indicating maximum age of 1.89 Ga for deformation and, by inference, introduction or mobilization of epigenetic gold. |
