Record #110660:

Kasvihuone-Suomen vesivoima / Leo Koutaniemi.

Title: Kasvihuone-Suomen vesivoima / Leo Koutaniemi.
Translated title: Water power in greenhouse Finland.
Author(s): Koutaniemi, Leo.
Date: 1991.
Language: Finnish.
In: Terra. (1991.), Vol. 103(1) (1991)
Abstract: Based on data from Oulujoki and Kemijoki (rivers which together produce half Finland's hydro-power), gives estimate of water resources in 2030s, i.e. when greenhouse gases are assumed to have reached double present level. Remarkable decline in snowmelt flood peaks will diminish use of by-pass canals in power plants. Increase in total volume of discharges and more even distribution between seasons will make possible increase of hydro-power production by over one third.
