Record #110659:
Assessment of climate change impact in high-latitudinal regions / Eduard A. Koster.
Title: | Assessment of climate change impact in high-latitudinal regions / Eduard A. Koster. |
Author(s): | Koster, Eduard A. |
Date: | 1991. |
In: | Terra. (1991.), Vol. 103(1) (1991) |
Abstract: | Potential consequences of greenhouse-induced climate changes for environment have been tentatively identified. Reviews climate variability in past (including abrupt and drastic temperature changes due to natural causes), and focuses attention on specific climate-sensitive processes and phenomena, like cryospheric processes (glaciers, snow cover, permafrost degradation), slope stability, changes in northern peatlands, potential shifts in vegetation zones, and other responses of ecosystem. Includes recommendations for research. |
Notes: | Terra. Vol. 103(1) :3-13 (1991). |
