Abstract: Reports author's excavations in south-west Greenland, 1945-46 and 1948. Gives results of anthropological investigations of skeletal material, and summary list of objects found (including sun compass). Demonstrates that there were at least two Norse settlements at Narsarsuaq, of which oldest may date to landnám period, and that at least one church existed before the one excavated, which may be dated to about 1300.
