| Abstract: | Area for botanical investigation comprised 45 km², mainly in low alpine belt (450-700 m a.s.l.), in northern Norway. Calcareous bedrock prevails, supporting wide range of rich to luxuriant vegetation types. 203 phanerogam taxa were recorded. Several taxa display distinct local distribution patterns. (North-western part of area, Láhku, has much poorer vegetation: nutrient-poor snowbeds and grasslands prevail.) Flora and vegetation show few signs of cultural influence. Suggests that this untouched area should be conserved in its present state. |
