Record #110545:

Oil and gas resources in the offshore Soviet Arctic / James W. Clarke.

Title: Oil and gas resources in the offshore Soviet Arctic / James W. Clarke.
Author(s): Clarke, James W.
Date: 1991.
Publisher: London: Belhaven Press in association with the Scott Polar Institute
In: Soviet maritime Arctic. (1991.),
Abstract: Describes stratigraphic section of rock strata for each of Barents Sea, Kara Sea and north-east Siberia Arctic shelf, three main offshore oil and gas basins for potential development. Also explains petroleum geology of these basins with reference to source beds, reservoir rocks and seals. Arctic would seem to be more promising for gas rather than oil reserves, although commercial exploitation is very difficult.
