Record #110532:

Niveo-aeolian sand deposition in subarctic dunes, eastern coast of Hudson Bay, Québec, Canada / Simon Bélanger, Louise Filion.

Title: Niveo-aeolian sand deposition in subarctic dunes, eastern coast of Hudson Bay, Québec, Canada / Simon Bélanger, Louise Filion.
Author(s): Bélanger, Simon.
Filion, Louise.
Date: 1991.
In: Journal of Quaternary Science : JQS. (1991.), Vol. 6(10) (1991)
Abstract: Evaluates annual sedimentary budget of dunes by determining, through monitoring of annual cycle, relative importance of both niveo-aeolian (winter) and aeolian (summer) transport, in belief that former is more significant. Trees are useful indicators: mechanical damage, caused by melting of snow and subsequent collapse of niveo-aeolian deposits, to white spruces located on slipfaces of dunes are discussed.
