Abstract: Offshore structures in subfreezing temperatures usually have ice adfrozen around periphery. Drifting ice features come in contact with this adfrozen ice before touching structure, making assessment of design loads imparted by ice feature to structure very difficult to calculate. Presents method for estimating such loads, as well as predictive behaviour of adfrozen ice plate and invading ice feature.
