Record #110456:

Subsurface movement on solifluction slopes in the Ruby Range, Yukon Territory, Canada -- a 20-year study / Larry W. Price.

Title: Subsurface movement on solifluction slopes in the Ruby Range, Yukon Territory, Canada -- a 20-year study / Larry W. Price.
Author(s): Price, Larry W.
Date: 1991.
In: Arctic and Alpine Research. (1991.), Vol. 23(2) (1991)
Abstract: Four slopes investigated for different periods between 1967 and 1988. Greater differential movement at depth than at surface under certain conditions (southeast-facing slope, well developed solifluction lobes, complete vegetation). Profiles are convex/concave downslope rather than simply concave. Movement occurs in early summer by soil flowing between turf mat and frozen ground as well as en masse movement of entire surface through discrete shearing at depth 30 to 50 cm.
