Abstract: Account of work and life of Alaskan anthropologist Anna Kertula during 12 months spent in 1990 in Sireniki (Chukotskiy Poluostrov). Population of village consisted of Yup'ik (Eskimo), Chukchi and Russians. She concentrated on documenting daily life, particularly of native population, and with reference to hunting, reindeer herding, collectivization and alcoholism.
