Record #110383:

Vegetation changes in a burned area planted by Pinus sylvestris in Northern Finland / Ilkka Vanha-Majamaa, Erkki Lähde.

Title: Vegetation changes in a burned area planted by Pinus sylvestris in Northern Finland / Ilkka Vanha-Majamaa, Erkki Lähde.
Author(s): Vanha-Majamaa, Ilkka.
Lähde, Erkki.
Date: 1991.
In: Annales Botanici Fennici. (1991.), Vol. 28(2) (1991)
Abstract: Vegetational changes between 42 and 67 years after forest fire were studied on eight permanent plots in mesic cultivated Scots pine stands in Kivalo research area on Kaihuanvaara (66° 22′ N). Canonical correspondence analysis was used to show effects of environmental variables. Number of species increased from 52 to 90, and dominance-diversity curve in 67-year-old forest was less steep than in 42-year-old one. Coverage of herbs and grasses was found to increase.
