Record #110369:
ELF radiation from the Tromsø "super heater" facility / R. Barr, P. Stubbe.
Title: | ELF radiation from the Tromsø "super heater" facility / R. Barr, P. Stubbe. |
Author(s): | Barr, R. Stubbe, P. |
Date: | 1991. |
In: | Geophysical Research Letters. (1991.), Vol. 18(6) (1991) |
Abstract: | Direct comparisons of ionospheric ELF radiation produced by new (1 GW ERP) and old (250 MW GRP) antennas of Tromsø heater system have revealed no significant differences in ELF signal strength. This result requires value of unity for index relating received ELF signal strength to HF power input to antenna. Experiments provided values ranging from 0.74 to 0.97, dependent on ELF frequencies generated. No evidence for saturation effects has been found even at power densities greater than 10mW/m². |
