Record #110305:

Evidence from thermoluminescence dating for Middle Wisconsinan deglaciation in the Hudson Bay Lowland of Manitoba / Glenn W. Berger, E. Nielsen.

Title: Evidence from thermoluminescence dating for Middle Wisconsinan deglaciation in the Hudson Bay Lowland of Manitoba / Glenn W. Berger, E. Nielsen.
Author(s): Berger, Glenn W.
Nielsen, E.
Date: 1991.
In: Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences. (1991.), Vol. 28(2) (1991)
Abstract: Reports first direct dating of nonglacial, intertill Nelson River sediments, obtaining age estimates of 32-46 ka for four samples and 119 ka for fifth, all samples previously correlated to Sangamonian Stage (80-130 ka) Missinaibi Formation. Younger dates estimated to be within 20 to 40% of true age of deposition, but oldest date is probably overestimate. Thus, younger direct dates imply significant climatic warming and deglaciation during Middle Wisconsinan.
